Salam
looks to make it super seven
21
November 2007
BIG-HITTING light-heavyweight prospect Tony Salam looks for his
seventh straight victory as a pro when he appears on the Frank Maloney
promotion at the Newham Leisure Centre on November 30.
East
London's Nigerian-born puncher has made impressive progress in his
first year as a pro alongside his studies for a degree at the University
of East London in Stratford.
Now
he is named on the supporting card on the Maloney bill headed by
Ian Napa's defence of his British bantamweight championship against
former titleholder Martin Power.
Opponent
finding will not be easy for Salam whose victim list includes Ovill
McKenzie, the former Commonwealth champion, who he defeated in Doncaster
last month.
Another
East London prospect booked for action on the show is former Peacock
Gym amateur Dwayne Lewis who has won one and drawn one of two pro
fights under manager/trainer Babatunde Ajayi.
Puncher
Lewis - a cousin of former world heavyweight king Lennox Lewis -
is named to fight Welsh opponent puncher Leon Owen on the Newham
Leisure Centre show.
Also
on the undercard are Gary Woolcombe, Akaash Bhatia, and Henry Castle...
